There are many bushland reserves across the greater Perth metropolitan area. The size, connectedness, and quality of the bushland varies between these sites. This project will involve using a range of trapping techniques (pitfall trapping for reptiles and small mammals, camera trapping for large mammals) and vegetation assessments to map the distribution of urban wildlife and develop our understanding of how species are surviving around urban development. This project will suit a student who is keen to develop their fauna and vegetation assessment methods, and who would like to learn new statistical and spatial mapping approaches.
